Douglas F. McRae has significant experience in the financial service business having spent 15 years with U.S. Trust, first in New York as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Department Manager and later as Manager of their West Coast office in Beverly Hills. Other banking and trust experience includes Northern Trust Bank of California in Los Angeles and later managing the Trust and Private Client Services Personal Trust Business Development staff at First Interstate Bank. Additionally, Mr. McRae spent nearly a decade as a Registered Investment Advisor, Certified Financial Planner and general management consultant.
He holds a B.S. in Accounting from La Salle University, an M.A. in Financial Management from George Washington University and obtained his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1979. He is a member of the Santa Barbara Planned Giving Roundtable and Planned Giving Council of Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. McRae served on the Boards of Directors of the Central Cities Association of Los Angeles, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Los Angeles, and Casa Pacifica where he also served as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He also volunteered for many nonprofits.
In 2004 McRae joined Sansum Research where he oversees donor fund development activities including annual appeals, endowments, and major and planned gifts.
