SDRI Announces Planned Giving Man and Woman of the Year

Eric Skipsey and Lynne Wais were recently selected the Planned Giving Man and Woman of the Year by Sansum Diabetes Research Institute. They were honored at a special Legacy Luncheon held at the Institute which honors Legacy Club members for their significant commitment to SDRI by making a provision in a will, living trust, or estate plan or by naming SDRI as beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan.

Man of the Year Eric Skipsey is a Canterbury, England native who received his engineering degree from Cambridge University. During World War II, he served in the Royal Army Service Corps until being wounded in the battle of Dunkirk. After the war, Eric and his wife Frances lived in Los Angeles, where he gained worldwide recognition for his photography of motion picture luminaries. The couple retired in Santa Barbara in 1969.

Mrs. Evalyn (Lynne) Wais, Woman of the Year, is a native Californian. For over 25 years she managed the medical office of a well-known internist in Los Angeles. Lynn and her husband John retired in Santa Barbara and began supporting SDRI in the early 1980’s. Mrs. Wais sponsored special events, served as Chair of the Sansum Associates, and is a member of the Board of Trustees.
