Sandra Tillisch Svoboda has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, it was announced by Michael Hopkins, Chairman of the Board.

Formerly a nurse clinician, Svoboda serves on the board of directors of the American Orchid Society, Cymbidium Society of America, and the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. She has also served as a board member of CALM, Planned Parenthood, and Camerata Pacifica.

Svoboda has served as co-chair of the Grand Opening of the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show for SDRI and currently is the program director for their Summer Intern Program.

Sandra carries on the legacy of her late husband Albert Svoboda, M.D. who was a devoted member of the Board of Trustees and program director of SDRI’s Summer Intern Program.
