While working with researchers in Northern Ireland, SDRI Senior Scientist David Pettitt, M.D. received the Niall O’Meara Award. The Irish Endocrine Society grants this award annually to a “Distinguished Visiting Professor” who gives the keynote award lecture at their annual meeting. Dr. Pettitt’s lecture is titled "The “Long Term Effects of Diabetes During Pregnancy on the Child.” Dr. Pettitt reports “this is an honor for both me and for Sansum Diabetes Research Institute.”
