In 1995 she left the position to become a Parks and Recreation Commissioner and raise her two daughters. During that time, she sat on many boards and spent 16 years liaising with numerous boards and committees. Ada has served as the Director of Santa Barbara Special Olympics, Director of Development for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, consultant for Collaborative Communities Foundation and her last position was as the Capital Campaign Director for the Greater Santa Barbara Ice Skating Association.

Ada became acquainted with Sansum Diabetes Research Institute when the organization supported her through a diagnosis of gestational diabetes during her pregnancies. She is proud to work for such a wonderful organization that is known globally and serves many locally.

Ada is from Daytona Beach, Florida and attended college at the University of Miami and the University of Colorado in Boulder. In 2003 she was honored to run the Olympic Torch on State Street. Ada continues to dedicate her time to fundraising for the nonprofit sector and through her love for the work of SDRI.
