SDRI ’S FUTURE WILL SUPPORT AND EXPAND our ongoing research in all types of diabetes. One new emphasis will be clinical and translational research into precision nutrition—diet manipulation to prevent and help control diabetes. This research will develop an understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to the causes of metabolic disease, including all types of diabetes.
Under the direction of Dr. Samuel Klein, SDRI’s new Chief Scientific Officer, and a prestigious Scientific Advisory Panel, we will expand our role as a hub of clinical research unique in the research world. SDRI’s collaboration with outstanding institutions such as Harvard University, the University of California at San Diego, the University of California at Santa Barbara, the Mayo Clinic, and Washington University, among others, will continue to grow and strengthen the research performed. These collaborations will expand our intellectual footprint and provide a world-class clinical research site for integrated systems biology research.
